DOSA PREPARATION:
Ingredients required for dosa batter
- Urad dal – one cup
- Rice – three cups
- Chana dal – three tablespoons
- Fenugreek seeds -two tablespoons
- Atukulu or Poha -two tablespoons
To make dosa batter you need to wash rice and urad dal thoroughly. Now, take urad dal, rice, chana dal, fenugreek seeds, and poha in a bowl. Add water to the ingredients and leave it for 5 hours. After 5 hours take water from the ingredients and put all these in a blender and make a fine paste. Add salt to it. Now the batter is ready for making dosa.
PREPARATION OF POTATO MASALA:
Potato masala for masala dosa is a mouth-watering and easy recipe. This is one of the easy and tasty recipes for busy mothers who want to cook fast. Also a simple recipe with few ingredients. This recipe is suitable for chapati, puri, and masala dosa.
Now let us see the ingredients required for potato curry,
- Potatoes -3
- Onion -2
- Garlic -1 tablespoon of finely chopped
- Green peas – half cup
- basan powder -two teaspoons
- rice flour – one teaspoon
- Ingredients required for tampering
- chana dal – one and a half teaspoon
- Mustard seeds – one teaspoon
- cumin seeds -one teaspoon
- urad dal -one teaspoon
- Garlic -1 tablespoon of finely chopped
- Curry leaves
- Green chili -2
- Turmeric – pinch
- Salt – for taste
- Water
- oil
PREPARATION OF KURMA:
- First, you need to cut the onions.
- Boil potatoes to a point where it will mash and Cook the green peas and add salt to it.
- Now heat the kadhai and add oil, chana dal, urad dal, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, garlic, curry leaves, and green chili then add onions to it.
- Fry the onions till it changes to golden brown color. Add little amount of salt, this will helps to fry onions fastly.
- once all ingredients are finely fried then add potato paste and cooked green peas to it. Add turmeric to it.
- mix the curry for few minutes to combine all ingredients together.
- Now take basan powder and rice flour in a bowl and add water to it. Mix the mixture without any lumps.
- Add this mixture to cooking curry in the kadhai and start cooking. Add required salt and cook till all the moisture goes out. Potato kurma for masala dosa is ready.
- You can also use this curry with chapati and puri.
MAKING MASALA DOSA:
- Take a pan and take one cup of batter.
- spread the batter evenly on the pan.
- Add some oil to it and then add potato masala on it. Wait for two minutes to roast the dosa completely.
- Close dosa to one side and remove from the pan. Your yummy masala dosa is ready for serving.
Tips:
- Poha: It will give a nice puffy texture to your dosa
- Fenugreek seeds: It is used to give smoothness to your dosa
- Take care that the curry should be dry and there is no moisture in the curry. This will give you a perfect taste and look to your dosa.
