Sugar waxing is an ancient method of removing hair from the body. There are different sugar waxing products and waxing gels are available in the market. Both are applied directly to the skin. The only difference between sugar waxing and gels is in the applied direction.
In sugar waxing, first, the warmed paste is applied in opposition to the hair growth direction and then removed in the hair growth direction. This is a traditional method. Using gel is same as waxing but it is applied in hair growth direction and then removed in reverse direction of the hair growth.
The waxing products are very much expensive in the market. If you are going to saloon they are also asking more money to wax. Most of the people experience itching after waxing because their body reacts to the composition in the waxing. So, It is better to make natural and homemade waxing at home. It doesn’t cause any irritation to your body.
Sugar waxing is made of lemon, sugar, and water. Sometimes it is made up of salt, honey, and some other essential oils. Apply a small amount of wax on the place where you want to wax and continue this process to remove hair completely. It removes hair from the roots and again you need to wax after 6 weeks. Apply moisturizer to your skin after waxing.
Ingredients required for sugar waxing are
- sugar – 1 cup
- lemon juice – 1/4 cup
- water – 1/4 cup
PREPARATION:
- To make sugar waxing at home, first, you need to take thick bottomed kadhai and add sugar, lemon juice, and water.
- Heat the kadhai and Stir them in a medium flame to dissolve sugar.
- Stir it well to reduce scraping and burning.
- Increase heat to boil the mixture and take care not to burn the mixture. If it starts burning then it became solid after cooling.
- Once it reaches its boiling point, reduce the flame and stir until the colour of the mixture changes to golden brown.
- Turn off the heat and let the mixture to cool for some time.
HOW TO APPLY:
- First, you need to apply baby powder on the area where you want to wax. If you have any irritation to waxing then it helps to make your skin softer and also helps to reduce itching after waxing.
- Then microwave sugar wax to 3 to 4 seconds. Remember that the sugar wax heat is enough to touch and comfort to apply on your skin.
- Now, apply this paste to your skin in reverse direction of hair growth.
- You can apply this mixture by using your hands or wooden stick.
- Then remove the wax in the hair growth direction to remove hair from the roots.
- Remove the wax with the help of hands or stick. Otherwise, You can place a tissue paper on the top of the paste and remove the wax with the help of the paper.
- After waxing, apply any oil or lotion to moisturize your skin.
You can also refrigerate and reuse this mixture for 3 to 4 times and also you can use apple cider vinegar instead of lemon juice. This waxing results up to 6 weeks
