How To Paint Gold And Silver Designs With Gold,Silver Dust powder And Clear Synthetic Varnish On A Fabric
Nowadays, gold and
silver painting on sarees have become very trendy. There are many colors
available in the market. There are different paintings for different fabrics
are also available in the market.
If you pay little attention and hard work then you can
make your own designer saree at a reasonable cost. So, I would like to share a
simple and different method to paint saree with simple ingredients that will
give you a different look. This method of painting won’t change its color and
it is long lasting.
My aunty shares this method of painting on the saree. One
day she wore a beautiful gold painting saree on a pink plain Kota saree.
As I was so impressed, I asked her about the engravings on her beautiful saree.

Most of the paintings are gone in two to three washes or in
minimum one year but this kind of saree gives a color guarantee of 5 to 6
years. The clear synthetic varnish makes painting reliable.
Ingredients required for silver and gold paint are
- clear synthetic varnish -available in hardware shops
- silver dust powder
- golden dust powder
- Tracing paper
- carbon paper
- Stitching frame
- two number brush
- Wooden printing stamp block hand designs -available in the market.
HOW TO DO SILVER OR GOLD PAINTING ON A SAREE:
- To start painting on a saree, first, you need to take a small bowl and add the same amount of clear synthetic varnish and silver or gold dusting powder. Mix it well without any lumps.
- Note that the mixture should be small amount because it dries up fastly.
- Now use your creativity and draw the design on tracing paper. Copy that image into saree by using carbon paper.
- You can also take different designs from the internet and print it out. Once you got designs then transfer the image painting into saree using tracing paper and carbon paper. In this way also you can transfer designs on the saree.
- Then tightly fix the design by stitching frame on the saree and start painting by using two number brush.
- Continue this process to the whole saree. If you are doing fast then your saree will be ready in a week.
- This kind of paint is durable and doesn’t change the color, it is long lasting and one can easily be made on their own.
- You can also make designs by using different wooden stamp block hand designs which are available in the market.
- Wooden stamps make your work easier because there is no need for transferring the design. You just need to place the stamp in the painting color bowl and stamp the design on the saree. It will take 2 days of time for a saree.
