How to Make Perfect Home Made Potato Chips


Potato chips are the best snack item for all age people. It is healthy too. These are commonly served as a snack, side dish or appetizer. The basic chips are cooked and salted. There are different flavors also available in the market but the homemade chips are the best mouth-watering snack.
If you keep little concentration then you can make very nice crispy chips. The crispiness depends on the thickness of the potato slice. It should dry perfectly not too dry or wet under sunlight.
Ingredients Required for potato chips are
  • Potatoes
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Oil
  • Slicer or a sharp knife
  • Cloth


PREPARATION:
  1. For making potato chips, First, peel the skin off the potato.
  2. Make thin slices of potato with a slicer or a sharp knife.
  3. Take a large pot and add water, potato slices and salt (required)to it.
  4. keep it aside for half an hour so that potato pieces absorb the salt.
  5. Then drain the water and spread the potato slices on a cotton cloth in such a way that no one piece mixed to another piece.
  6. keep these spread potato slices under sunlight for 20 minutes. So the extra moisture will be absorbed by the cloth and the slices became dry.
  7. Store these slices in an airtight container.
  8. Deep fry the required slices whenever you want to eat.
  9. Fry till it became golden brown color. Your potato chips are ready for eating.
  10. You can use the dried slices for one month.
For different taste sprinkle pepper or chilli powder and chat masala powder on the chips. You can also eat with tomato sauce.

Tips: 
  • If the sunlight is more then the slices became thick brown color at the edges. So take care that the slices should be in light brown color.
  • Deep fry the chips until it became crunchy.
  • The crunchiness depends on the dryness of the potato chips.
